Preliminary task evaluation

I personally feel I was successful through the stages of planning and the execution of our task. As a group we all came together in terms of planning, we all contributed to ideas on what we wanted to be included in our film for example the basic idea of the story line, and camera shots for each individual scene.
My idea was to create my groups script, writing has always been an easy task for me, but including the opinions and ideas of three other people made it a little bit harder than usual. Through this I learnt how to work as a team.
Through filming and figuring out how to use our assigned cameras, I haven't previously used a camera of that size or professional standards therefore at first I found it very complicated. All of my previous knowledge comes from my smart phone, but by the end of our "camera work" lesson I had learnt how to zoom, focus, set up a camera on a tripod, do a close up shot and most importantly remove the lens from the camera and film.
I feel my strongest point while working on this project was writing the script and then applying my camera knowledge to do close up shots of the phone, the door handle and the boys shoes entering the door.
When applying my new skills I was able to use the techniques learnt thorough the 180 degree rule video. I feel that by learning and applying the camera rules that we learnt, my group and I were able to successfully able to create our own short film. Through learning about story boarding, shot lists and script writing I was able to discover that planning the creation of a film is very complicated.
As much as learning camera rules and techniques were important I felt that equally so were understanding the complications that go behind creating a masterpiece. I most importantly learnt that you couldn't create that masterpiece without the contribution of others, because without all my team the short film wouldn't have been successful.
