Blog Post 12 - Audience Research

Audience Research
An audience is a group of people who view a type of film/genre due to their preferences.

Whist conducting a film genre, you must consider who your target audience is by looking at:
  • Location
  • Male or Female
  • Average Age
  • Common Interests
  • Income Range
  • Common Values
etc.

Researching Target Audiences:
In this part of interviewing different people, I discovered their different interests in different film genres and what type of audience I could be aiming for, for a specific type of genre.

Audience profiles for Films:
Fast and Furious

These screenshots show that mainly males watch this movie falling the age category of 25-39 as the C2DE codes for the skilled working class although I do believe that there is a wide range of ages for those who watch Fast and Furious, I do see the aspect that it'll mainly be males as well as those within their 20s-40s.

Batman

The screenshots above show a similar relation and target audience to the movie I previously researched, this shows that there is a close relation between those who watch Fast and Furious and Batman.

Mr.&Mrs.Smith

Compared to the previous movies, the target audience for this movie mainly hits at females within the skilled working class and whilst analysing what sort of movies they also favour, portray a close relation to the type of genre which Mr.&Mrs.Smith is.
