Macro and Micro Analysis of Title Sequences - Blog Post 13

Fast and Furious 6:

Micro Analysis;
The camera uses mainly close ups, extreme close ups, car shots, lower angles transitioning into higher angles and bird eye views.
The editing of the title sequence is a lot rapid cut away's, not smooth transitions from one to another.
The title sequence takes place on a open road as it is a car chase. The sound is mainly car engines, clutches being pulled the acceleration of the car and wild track sounds of the location (by the sea)

Macro Analysis;
The main plot of the sequence is to establish the genre of the film as it is action  by showing a fast car chase scene. The storyline shows firstly what is happening at that specific time in the film but then in the title sequence when the credits are shown it shows a bit of history of the characters.
A lot of young men are shown slightly negatively, having fast cars, sleeping with  a number of women the use of guns and the possession of a lot of money.
The order of the Credits are :

Terminator 2- Judgement Day

 Micro Analysis;
Throughout the opening scene the camera uses close ups, birds eye views and higher angle shots. There isn't much editing shots (very seamless and smooth transitions) however there are many special effects for example the use of lasers and their sound, alien and machine aircrafts circling the sky. The scene begins in what looks like a graveyard and then transitions into a battlefield( showing the aftermath of the battlefield scene) There seems to be a lot of military soldiers and machinery being used. The sound is quite muted due to their being a voiceover explaining what the scenes mean and in an essence explaining what the film is going to be about. There is however muffled explosions and gun shots underneath the voiceover.

Macro Analysis;
The main idea that is conveyed is that the film is about a battle of humans vs machines. The storyline is introduced by the title sequence almost giving its background and then letting the film explain what's actually happening now.
The only character we are introduced to is John Connor who is the son of the female voiceover of the film. We are introduced to the machines as a group and they are shown quite negatively as being ruthless, killers and destructive.
