Blog Post 8 - My favourite Film

My Favourite Film

My favourite film is Mission Impossible : Rogue Nation. It is an action film with a plot about Ethan and his team trying to take down an organisation called the Syndicate- an international Rogue nation whose main aim is to bring down the IMF.

From the title sequence of the film the genre being action is clearly established. This is done through the use of high tempo music, extreme close ups, a lot of rapid cut away scenes and the use of graphics. The extreme close ups of the guns and the bullets along with the fighting scenes show that the movie is quite fast pace. Added to this is the many cutaways. Instead of having the different scenes in the title sequence flow together they are made to abruptly move on from one scene to another. By doing this it makes the title sequence more dramatic and more reflective of the genre of the film being action.

With this particular film the title sequence gives the audience some hints of the story line without giving too much away. This is achieved by showing little snippets of scenes from the film in the order that they happen. By only showing few seconds of scenes that appear in the film it gives the audience a taster of what is going to happen without completely revealing everything prompting them to stay and watch the rest of the film
In relation to the credits the order is as follows:

- The name of the production company/ companies
- The channels the film is associated with or productions
- The Star Actor of the film so (Tom Cruise)
-The Other Leading Actors in the film
-The Title of The Film
In total the title sequence is 50 seconds in length. I have embedded the title sequence below;
