Blog Post 9 - Different Title Openings

Categories of Title Openings:

1. Titles on a Blank Screen
This title sequence is the most common title used as it is low budget,as well being very effective due to the titles and credits being presented against a blank background therefore making the title sequence eye captivating.
Examples: Psycho & Pulp Fiction




2. Titles on still Image
This title sequence is more elaborative than simple text on a blank background,it consists more of hand drawn borders yet also portraying a hint on the tone of genre by combining different forms of media in. In addition, the title sequence of Wimbledon shows how the credits changes as the background beat does.
Examples: Wimbledon


3.Titles over Moving Images
In this title sequence,there is usually no dialogue however it can serve to either offer a metaphor or narrative thread in which this helps introduce the storyline.
Examples: Rear Window & City of Gods


4. Titles using Animation or Motion
This category shows animated text as the title sequences become a form of art,this could be through integrating with images. This specific category has been common with digital technology and stylised editing.
Examples: Casino Royale & Catch Me If You Can
