Evaluation of Rough Cut
I feel from the beginning of this project our overall idea and plan for our sequence was well thought out and i believe we expressed our ideas well through each shot. On the other hand, i feel our ideas of precise details were expressed much better through our pitch than our actual rough cut. For example we wanted the feminine identity to be hidden at the start, but small clues given through the way in which she carried herself, such as how she runs/moves as well as her image. We discussed that we wanted for her to have bold eye makeup so we could have a close up camera shot, but that didn't happen during filming time. When we re film i think this will be one of the things we will show.Another thing that i feel we did well was the order in which we filmed each of our shots, the order of a sequence is one of the most important parts as it allows people to actually understand the story line.We made sure that we kept her identity discrete and then done more of a reveal at the end showing that she was a female, through her long pony tail. An improvement for each of our shots would we be our camera work, we've picked quite hard shots to film such as running shots, we want to follow her as she runs but at the same time having a shaking camera shot doesn't look very good so we need to find another way that we can follow were she goes but make a shots more clear, focused and less shaky. This refers to all of our shots as i feel our camera wasnt as good as it could have been, making it better would make our sequence look so much better. I feel one of my weaknesses when using the cameras are with zoom, going from a normal shot to zooming into an object is something i find quite hard. And finally our last improvement i feel would be the sound, we need to create a backing track for our sequence as well as add our pre recorded sound effects.
